Kate Spade originally started out working in the accessories department at Mademoiselle. In 1993, she decided to launch her own company with just six handbags. Her unique designs combined color and utility in a new way and became an instant hit. In 1996, Kate Spade New York opened its first boutique in New York’s SoHo. Today, the company has grown to incorporate clothes, shoes, beauty products, and eyewear. Kate Spade stands for stylish and sensible fashion with just a touch of color and flair.
