Kristin Kreuk has returned to the CW with a new series called Beauty and the Beast. This time, price Kreuk plays a young detective named Catherine. In the pilot episode Catherine runs into a doctor named Vincent (played by Jay Ryan), story who people believed died while serving in the war. Catherine soon learns that Vincent has another, online much darker side to his personality. However, she is determined to figure out who murdered her mother so she keeps pursuing a relationship with the Beast who she believes might have some answers for her about what happened that terrible night.

Kristin Kreuk has stated that she enjoys the challenge of playing a character that has an authoritative role. She also believes that the darkness in Catherine’s personality stems from her desire to stop the people who hurt her mom, but she does not realize that vengeance or exacting justice will not erase the dark feelings those painful memories left her with.
