Whenever most people think of museums, boring exhibits come to mind. This fall, however, four museums will join forces to showcase designs from the famous and venerable designer: Jean-Paul Gaultier. Crossing cultural, gender, and social stereotypes, Gaultier created countless pieces – 140 pieces of which will be up for display in Montreal, Dallas, San Francisco, Madrid, and the Netherlands. The theme “From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk” is inspired by the fact that Gaultier transforms seemingly pedestrian fashions into avant-garde couture. Instead of showcasing Gaultier chronologically, the museum will revolve his masterpieces around the following themes: “The Odyssey of Jean-Paul Gaultier,” “The Boudouir,” “Skin Deep,” “Punk Cancan,” “Urban Jungle,” and “Metropolis.” So next time you’re in the mood to experience something with class and modern appeal, visit one of these museums. Until then, enjoy VainChic’s very own exhibit!
Sincerely, Aiysha
