LORAC: Shine Bright Blush & Highlighter Palette

I love the way a quick swipe of blush can instantly give your complexion a healthy, happy glow. Whether you prefer a subtle pink flush or a rosier cheek, blush can go a long way to add color and dimension to your face. While I usually gravitate to the same neutral shade for daily wear, I like to try out some different options during the summer season when my skin picks up a natural tan. I finally pulled out the LORAC: Shine Bright Color & Light Cheek Palette I purchased a few months back, and I’ve been getting a lot of use out of it. This was my first purchase from this brand, so I wasn’t sure if it was going to work for me, but I liked the idea of having a palette versus picking up individual blushes. The palette includes 4 matte blush shades and 2 highlighter options. Currently, it’s on sale on the LORAC website for $20 (usually retails for $29) so I highly recommend getting it if you’re interested. For swatches and description of colors/formula, see below.

Shades: This palette contains a beautiful range of colors, from everyday neutrals to a subtle pop of color. I think the colors would work well on a wide range of skin tones, especially since you have the option to choose from multiple colors which you can blend and layer to suit your personal preference. As mentioned, all the blush shades are matte and they include:

Blossom: pale, neutral peach

Tea Rose: tawny rose

Aura: dusky mauve

Technicolor: fresh coral-pink

There are also 2 highlighters included in this palette:

Bold Spirit: unique, warmer toned highlight with rose gold undertone

Opalescent: lighter, brighter highlight with peachy gold undertone

Formula: These blushes blend beautifully, they can be built up, are highly pigmented but still look natural on the skin (even the brighter shades). The highlight gives a subtle, “lit from within” glow and you can even layer it over the blush if you don’t want a completely matte look. There is some powder kickback in the pan, but the formula has a soft, creamy texture when you apply. With some brands, I find that lighter shades of blush apply chalky on the skin, but every color in this palette has a smooth and even application. The highlighters have a soft-focus effect without looking harsh or glittery.

Ingredients: Paraben free!

Packaging: Convenient, lightweight palette that is easy to travel with and gives you options. I like that it includes a good mirror that you can prop up to do your makeup on the go.

Overall, the LORAC: Shine Bright Cheek Palette is wonderful and I’m happy with my first purchase from this brand! The variety of blush and highlighter shades is really useful for different seasons and occasions. I like that you can mix the colors or layer them to achieve a customized look. With 6 different products in one palette, this palette is a good value and convenient for travel, so I definitely recommend looking into it. I hope you found this review helpful.
