Urban Decay: All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder

Finding a good powder that works well on my dry skin has proved to be a challenge over the years. Throughout my search, I tried high-end and drugstore products that did not work out for me for one reason or another. All the more reason why I love the All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder by Urban Decay. I won’t lie…I wasn’t sure whether or not this product would live up to all it claimed after having been disappointed by so many other products that came highly recommended. However, I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did. I purchased mine at Ulta but Sephora has it as well. I’ve been using this product non-stop for more than a month and here are my thoughts on it:

Pros:

  • Beautiful finish:  truly weightless powder that feels like there’s nothing on your skin. It can be layered without looking cakey and has a slight brightening effect that I especially love under the eyes. It helps set the concealer under my eyes without causing it to crease… a major must for me in a powder. Finally, it does not dry my skin out or cling to dry patches on the skin so two thumbs up for that!!
  • Waterproof: definitely stands up to sweat and humid summer days and rainy days as well : )
  • Packaging: Love the silvery, glamorous packaging. The mirror inside is a good size and quality and I love that I can throw this compact in my handbag without it making a mess like loose setting powders do.

Cons:

Price = At $34 for 0.26 ounces of product, this powder is definitely on the pricey side…especially for a something I use every day. A little does seem to go a long way I guess, and it works so well for me that I convince myself that it’s an investment worth the price.

Overall, I’m really loving this product and it has become a major player in my daily makeup routine. I had nearly given up on finding a powder that worked for my combination/dry skin, until I found the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Powder. I love that I can set my makeup with this and my skin doesn’t dry out or the concealer under my eyes doesn’t start to crease as the day goes on. The gently brightening effect is also wonderful and helps me look bright eyed and awake in the mornings. I’m not sure how it would work on more oily skin types but I imagine that it will perform well. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a powder that does not stick to dry patches and keeps your makeup in place so you can take on the day!
